E-mail Print PDF

Feburary 6, 2008

Brussels, Belgium

An information day on FP7 Aeronautics and Air Transport is organized by the EU  and will be held on February 6, 2008 in Brussels, at the commission.

The main objectives of this FP7 workshop are :

  1. present what the role of EVI-GTI could be as an international association in terms of talking to the EU commission and to other groups like EIMG.
  2. understand the expectations of the members regarding FP7 activities within EVI-GTI
  3. take actions to prepare possible proposals, either based only on instrumentation or find out about larger proposals to see how instrumentation work packages could fit in.

2nd Tip Timing/Tip Clearance Workshop - 2007

8th and 9th February 2007

von Karman Institute, Rhode-Saint-Genèse, Belgium

50 EVI-GTI members and partner organisations participated in the very successful two day workshop on tip timing/tip clearance held and organized by Mike Ross at ALSTOM Power Technology Centre on the 8th/9th February 2006.

Exactly one year later, the time has come to assess the progress made on the solid basis already established during the first workshop, look at new commercial developments, and establish practical action plans to improve our technical capabilities in the field.

The scope of the workshop will cover Gas Turbines (Aero & Power) and Steam Turbines. The objectives are to discuss common sensor specifications both for tip timing systems and tip clearance systems, present advances from instrumentation vendors, discuss common test bench validations, discuss the range of issues concerned with funding thoughout the EU, namely with FP7 starting.

The outcomes of the workshop will be published by EVI-GTI and ciculated to participants. Copies of the CD will be available to members through the website.  Enquiries should be made to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Workshop on Telemetry Slip-Ring Wireless - 2009

 22nd to 24th June 2009

Paris, France

One of the missions of EVI-GTI is to create a platform where OEM and end-users can meet and exchange information about instrumentation.

Further our annual "International Gaz Turbine Instrumentation Conference", held one every two years with PWIG (see www.piwg.org), EVI-GTI organizes workshops on selected topics.

Specialized workshops aim at the maximum efficiency:

  • Saving travel costs: in one place at one time, (almost) every potential and actual customers meet (almost) every suppliers,

  • Finding accurate information: "ready to buy" companies may receive information not only from OEM but also benefit of feed-back and hints from end-users. End-users get also the chance to exchange feed-back with others end-users.

Presentations: 20 minutes case-reports are expected from end-users and 20 minutes product presentations from OEM..
Key-notes speakers are invited for "state of the art" presentations.

During the final session of these workshops (morning), a matrix of characteristics is derived, summarizing (common) end-user requirements, guiding OEM into their developments (limiting the numbers of developments and enlarging the potential market.)

A visit is organized at the end of the workshop (afternoon). This time, you are invited to discover the Snecma facilities at Villaroche.

Note: these workshops are open to members and non-members of EVI-GTI, the fee is 350€ (including a CD-Rom with presentations)

  1. Program of the Workshop
  2. Hotel reservation
  3. Registration to the Workshop
